摘要:The purpose of the talk is to discuss some of the mysteries around the much-touted recent success of school education in China and to explore some of the key conditions that may underpin the success. By exploring the key conditions, we cite research to illustrate what educational research in China (specifically in the area of educational leadership) can contribute to the international knowledge base. We will also indicate some topics that are worthy of further research. 

 

主讲人简介:

Allan Walker is Joseph Lau Chair Professor of International Educational Leadership, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Human Development and Director of The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change at Education University of Hong Kong. Allans research interests include the impact of culture on educational leadership and school organisation, school leadership In South East Asia, particularly China, leadership development, leading international schools and values and educational leadership. He has published widely and co-authored books Educational Leadership: Culture and Diversity and Deciphering Chinese School Leadership: Conceptualisation, Context and Complexities. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Council for Educational Leadership and has been Editor of the Journal of Educational Administration.

钱海燕:Qian Haiyan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education Policy and Leadership and Co-director of The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change at Education University of Hong Kong. She is recipient of 2014/15 Early Career Award of The University Grants Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Her main area of interest has been around school leadership in China and the influence of the social and cultural context on schooling across Chinese societies.
